New entries:
Do you make custom shirts?
Have you ever considered packaging buttons together as a set in a cute package?
Do you still have a 15 button limit for orders?
What size are the buttons?
top
One inch in diameter, the perfect cute size. The stickers
are 1.25 inches in diameter.
Do you make larger buttons?
top
Nope, I think they are dorky and not in a good way, but
that's just me!
What size are the stickers?
top
About 1.25 inches, a little bigger than the buttons.
The shopping cart isn't
working for me! top
The shopping cart uses 'cookies' to store your order, so
if it's not working, you probably have cookies turned off.
You can try to turn them on but if that doesn't work you
can use this form to place a manual
BUTTON ONLY order. Or you can just email me and we'll work
it all out.
Do I have to pay before
I get my order? top
Yup!. I don't make your buttons until I receive a payment.
Trust me! You can send in your payment anytime after you
order, I don't delete orders unless you tell me to.
How long will it take
to get my order? top
Once I get your payment, it takes me anywhere from a day
to two weeks (for button orders) or a week to four weeks
(for apparel orders) to fill your order, and then it's up
to the US Postal Service to get it to you (usually a few
days). Usually I'm pretty good about getting orders out
fast, but it varies, so if you need something by a certain
date, make sure you tell me.
How will I know when to
expect my order? top
I'll send you an email when I receive your payment and another
one when I ship your order.
Don't you keep a stock
of buttons? top
Nope, I make them as I need them. Same thing for everything
else I make!
Do I have to have use
a credit card to order? top
Nope. If you don't have a credit card you can still use the shopping
cart. You can use it to submit an order and pay later via cash/money
order/check. I use paypal to handle credit card transactions, but you
don't need to have a paypal account to use it.
Can I send you cash?
top
Sure, as long as it's US cash. If you send change in the
mail please tape it down, otherwise it will make these neat
little holes in the envelope and escape, and they might
roll under some big post office machine and live an unhappy
life forgotten and dusty. You wouldn't want that would you?
If at all possible please don't send change, send
stamps or stickers or presents. really, the post office hates
it when you send change.
Who do I make my payment
out to? top
me! Ken F. Morton
Do I have to send you
a copy of my order so you know what I want? top
Nope, I keep really good records, so all I need is your name/email
address. Just write it somewhere when you send in your payment
and I'll handle the rest. Don't waste paper!
Do you ship outside of
the United States? top
I can ship anywhere in the world, and the cost tends to
be minimally extra (usually a dollar or so). The shopping
cart will tell you how much extra shipping will cost when
you check out. Please send all payments in US dollars!
Can I send you money
from my fabulous non-US country? top
Well, generally, no. I can only handle US cash, or payments
in US funds. That means international money orders (postal
ones are great) in US Funds and US cash are fine, but personal
checks and the like are a no-no.
Why do you stop taking
custom button orders occasionally? top - I haven't taken a break for years, so this question doesn't really apply anymore. : )
Sometimes I get too busy and I need more time to fill existing
orders. One way for me to catch up is to stop taking custom
button orders. I know it seems like making a custom button
should be just as easy as a normal button, but there's the
email exchange to deal with, handling and preperation of
the files, and extra step when filling the order, etc. It
adds up to quite a bit of extra time. But don't worry, it's
only temporary, I always start back up again.
Do you really turn down
some custom button designs? top
Yes, I really don't want to make anything I find offensive.
That includes anything promoting hate, misogyny, or mass
religion. I'm also not too fond of making buttons with boy
bands on them. Also, I'm not your Hot Topic replacement.
I'm not interested in making trendy, vapid buttons.
When will you start making
shirts? top
Now!
Do you handle bulk/wholesale orders?
top
Generally, no. I really do like to keep things small and
because of the extra effort I have to go through to make
my buttons, I really can't offer much of a discount. Plus
it's just me making the buttons. If you are looking for
cheap buttons so that you can sell them as a method of fundraising,
you really should get your own button machine and make your
own designs. Then you can can be self-sufficent, creative,
and because you are actually doing the work yourself, proud.
: )
But if you really want, email me and maybe we can work something out.
Are you too busy to talk?
top
nah. If I was I'd fall over. Email me!
I'm a male and some of
your buttons make me scared that the patriarchy will be
toppled and my male priviledge will be taken away! top
Kathleen said it best: I'm so sorry if I'm alienating some
of you your whole fucking culture alienates me
I hate you and I'm going
to send you mean email, okay? top
Depending on what you write I may just chuckle and delete
it, or I may post it to this site so everyone can laugh
at you.
I think you charge too
much for your buttons, can't you sell them for cheaper?
xxx sells buttons for cheaper. top
I work really really hard to make my buttons and because of
the way I make them they require more work/more expensive
supplies than other buttons. They are probably the best
looking buttons you'll ever see. I spend an unbelievable
amount of time just handling email and the like, and some
days all I do is button work. I don't make alot of money
and whatever I do make, 10% of goes to charity. So I think
it's fair.
I think you should advertise
in my magazine/paper/etc. Yes? top
I don't do advertising. The only way I want people to hear
about the buttons is from talking to people who have them,
or reading what people have to write about them. I'm not
interested in marketing or anything that takes away from
the small and innocent nature of what I do. I like when
I get mentioned in zines though!
You should do this or
that to expand your business and make more money. top
I don't do it for the money and I don't think in terms of
making money. I'm only interested in making rad things and
to be able to continue doing so.
Can I link to your web
site? Can I use the button graphics? top
Of course! You can use anything you like from the web site in your journal or diary.
I'd prefer it if you saved the button graphic files and
served them from your own server, but it's okay if you don't.
I just don't want to run out of bandwidth for a given month
or anything. Just don't STEAL my work and make sure you link back to my site!
Why do you donate to
charities? top
Because just wearing a button isn't enough and because I
want to do what I can do support organizations that help
people, women in particular.
Wait, you're a boy/male?
top
Yes I am.
No really, I thought you
were a girl for like, months. top
I get that alot. It's quite a compliment actually. You might
want to consider broadening the way you think about gender
though.
Not yet. I screen print my shirts and it would be terribly wasteful and expensive if I set up a screen just to make a single shirt. If you want 10 or more shirts with a single design then that's a different thing, I might be able to do that for you.
I am working on other ways to make shirts, but quality comes first. In the meantime you can surely *suggest* shirt ideas.
Have you ever considered packaging buttons together as a set in a cute package? top
No, that's a retail-type 'trick' that tends to make you buy things you dont want to get the things you do want. Plus display packaging, no matter how cute, is wasteful.
Do you still have a 15 button limit for orders? top
No, I used to, a *long* time ago when I first started, but I haven't for years. I can handle any size order now through hard work and cleverness. ^__^
And of course, if you remember the limit then you've been with me since the beginning! <3
