oh, you might have noticed that this section of the site looks a little different from the rest of mushycat. I whipped up this new design the other day, I just wanted something clean and simple but still not all "Web 2.0" silly. I'm still using html tables! ^__^ There is a rss feed now though.

My goal is to build electric guitars responsibly. For me that means thoughtful design, sourcing wood sustainably, using hand tools as much as possible, and using finishing methods that are safe and non-toxic. It's also important to me that my guitars be vegan, though of course you still shouldn't eat them.

I'm just getting started and there's a lot to figure out. I'm going to document the process a bit here, plus there will  probably a bit of ranting and rambling about the how's and why's.

This is my ladybug guitar. I built it (years ago) by hacking away at a big hunk of wood with large power tools. Definitely not how I'd build guitars today. It's still cute though. I may make an updated version that's more responsibly built.
